Weekend Wrap-up

Labor Day was one of the greater inventions of the past century.  Nationwide, every one shouldn’t be working.  I have a question though.  Why is it that when you’re working you don’t want to work and when you’re not working you want to work?  It’s crazy the thoughts that go through my head sometimes.

Tim Chambers spoke this past weekend at our church and did a great job.  He wrapped up our series, “Hello, My Name is God.”  After one of the services I spoke with a guy my age about work.  The questions of, “am I measuring up?”, “am I doing a good job?”, and “am I the right person for the job?” were topics of our conversation.  The cool thing is, Tim spoke about that in his message, ” I Am who I Am.”

Tim talked about how Moses had all of those questions, just like we do.  But, here’s the key:  God takes all of our, “am I’s” and turns them into, “I AM”. With God, we can do all things.  With God for us, who can be against us.  With God, I have not been given a spirit of fear, but love, power, and a sound mind.  Wow!  That’ll preach!

I had a great time with Tim and his family this weekend.  What a great bunch of people.  His church, Shore Fellowship is cranking in NJ.  Because of their passion to reach the local community, they built a skate park for teens and was just featured in Outreach Magazine.  What a blessing!  Great weekend in God’s House!
